California State Historical Landmarks

The state of California has designated over 1100 sites as California State Historical Landmarks. I'm in the process of attempting to visit and photograph each of these historic locations. Join me in my journey through the state's historic past...

As of 4/15/03, I have been to 1011 of the sites.

The newest edition of the official guidebook to California Historical Landmarks is out. Published at the end of 1996, it includes over 70 landmarks designated since the 1990 edition.
(I'm not affiliated with the California Department of Parks and Recreation, but want to pass along this information about the guidebook if you're interested in visiting the landmarks as well.)
